Over 800 million people suffer from hunger each and every day. According to the United Nations one of the main causes for hunger and malnutrition is the lack of access to land.
One of the new UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) promises to eradicate hunger through ‘secure and equal access to land’. This leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
